Lucas’ Two Year Portraits–Erwin Park–McKinney, Texas–Meghan Holden Photography

Toddler Portraits

Lucas turned 2 over the weekend and I am so glad I got to document this milestone birthday and do his two year portraits. What a joy it is documenting this little boy since he was 3 months old. It still is so wild to me how alike babies look as they grow. I can see his little 3 month old face in his 2 year old face. It just throws me for a loop. Time is a thief. It goes by too quickly.

I remember taking Lucas’ 1 year portraits at Erwin Park and it was hard. There were bees. In case you didn’t know, Taylor and I are afraid of insects haha. There was the time I nearly jumped in her lap when we saw a spider on a blanket when we were doing Lucas’ 6 month portraits. At Erwin Park last year, Taylor spent time running away from this bee that was obsessed with her we had to relocate to the other side of the park. It was a better experience this time. No bees were swarming her, in fact, I don’t recall seeing one insect flying around.

Much to be expected, we spent much of the session following Lucas around and trying to get him to smile for the camera. He did a great job. Taylor made it easy to photograph such beautiful photos because she coordinated their outfits so well as usual. The joy in the images reflect the joy in their hearts. The thing I told Taylor at the end of the night was how much I appreciate them always smiling and laughing, even when the two year old is acting like a two year old. It’s always such a stress free experience with them and makes my job so easy.

Lucas, I can’t believe a whole other year has passed! You’ve grown so quickly! I’m so happy to be documenting your life for your sweet parents! I’m so excited to see the sweet boy you are becoming and can’t wait to see what God has in store for your life!

NAILED that family framer. Taylor probably thought I was crazy, but I was throwing my fists in their air feeling like a champion when I saw this one on the back of my camera.
