I did my own fresh 48 portraits, and I was determined to do Brody’s lifestyle newborn portraits too. These were taken 1 week after he was born, which is right when things were getting crazy with the Corona virus. Even though things were bad here in McKinney yet, it still makes you nervous with a newborn! Honestly, making me even more thankful I have the capability to do his newborn portraits on my own. I think I’ll share some tips and tricks for new moms who may not feel comfortable to let someone else around their newborn for portraits. Just because the world is crazy right now doesn’t mean you can’t have this important part of your life documented.
Like everyone else, I’m a little disappointed that the world is shut down. I was so excited to get this dress. I thought it would be perfect for portraits, but I could also wear it to church and easily nurse Brody in it. Boy was I wrong. I haven’t worn it since and honestly probably won’t get to nurse Brody at church with it. By the time church is open again, it will be too hot to wear this dress. Oh well! Even if I only use it for portraits, it was well worth it because it photographed so well.
Just like with his fresh 48, I wish I could have gotten more. Unfortunately, the pain from a c-section limits you. Shout out to my mom for letting me boss her around to get the family photos I wanted and to my husband for letting me boss him around to get the shots with me that I wanted.
Check out how cute my baby is below. I literally can’t believe how they begin to change so quickly! I feel like he already looks different from his fresh 48!
Brody Lewis Holden: 1 Week Old
The creative genius behind this one was my husband.
I just can’t get over his ginger hair! Jury is still out on if he’ll stay that way or turn to blonde like his big sister!
I have a few photos of my daughter taking pictures with me and they are so special, but this one right here may be my favorite since it has both pieces of my heart in it!
Such a proud big sister!
