I can’t believe I am finally sharing the photos from my own baby. Brody’s fresh 48 photos are done. We delivered Brody Lewis Holden at Baylor McKinney. Hazel was born here, too! The staff is so sweet, it’s a peaceful and clean environment, and close to our home.

I have been over here just snuggling and nursing my newborn for the last month and half. I finally decided to put my baby down to take the time to share these photos with the world.

Looking back at these photos already brings back memories of a time when things were simpler. I think I was one of the last people to deliver a baby and actually be allowed to have friends and family come visit us in the hospital. About a week later corona virus anxiety started shutting everything down. Friends of mine who have had their babies since were only allowed their partner in the hospital. Not even big siblings were allowed to visit and meet their new baby brother or sister.

My face is puffed and my eyes look drugged from so much fluid and pain meds after my c-section, but I also look happy and so content with my healthy little family!

It was a sweet challenge to photograph my own baby’s fresh 48 and newborn portraits, but it was so worth it! I’m sure many people thought I was crazy to try since I was in pain due to my c-section just hours before. Being able to photograph the memories I wanted to keep forever was well worth the momentary pain. Shout out to my friend, Kelsey, for coming in and letting me boss her around on how to get the shots I wanted that included me. I was originally going to just set up my tripod and use my clicker, but I had lost it without realizing it. It was clear I couldn’t run from one place to the next quick enough to use the timer feature, so she was greatly appreciated!

I wasn’t able to deliver myself as many photos as I normally do to a regular client. It doesn’t matter though, I am super happy with the results. I would absolutely do it again! I have control issues, what can I say? Haha
