Turning one year old is a big deal! 365 whole days on planet earth! So much growth happens in these days! I always enjoy when I get to document baby’s life the whole way through! Isla has grown so much in her appearance and her personality and it has been such a pleasure!
This sweet, sweet, energetic ball of cuteness is ONE! I can’t believe a whole year of documenting her life has come and gone!
I just remember being so stunned by how much beautiful dark hair she had as a newborn, and it never went away! I have just LOVED watching her little face change but stay just as much as I have enjoyed watching her personality change!
This session had me rolling before it ever started! Poor Jen texted me beforehand saying that Isla was having some kind of allergic reaction and had to be given Benadryl and that we may have to reschedule. Well, 45 mins later, I get a photo of Isla happy and wide awake as can be, so we went forward with our plan!
When we got to the location it was PACKED. Like literally, not a place to park. I had to drive around the lot and wait for someone to leave, and luckily, there was a spot by the time they got there.
As soon as we got started, we quickly realized these would be family portraits, not Isla’s one year portraits. I guess that Benadryl was running it’s course more than we thought because she would NOT be let go.
It’s a funny thing when you are editing photos of people taken with a camera with a lens that picks up all that detail. You see things you can see with the naked eye. When I was editing later, I found out, maybe the Benadryl was taking a toll on her. Some of the photos her eyes were so droopy!
Her altered state left me with SO. MANY. AWESOME. BLOOPERS. PLEASE, do yourself a favor and read to the bottom to laugh!
Thank you Isla, for providing me many laughs as I continued to work on your 1 year portraits.

Even more ridiculous, huh?!
The blooper gold is always the ones in between “the good ones”.
OUR TIME TOGETHER
BLOOPERS
This dad is the BEST! He worked so hard to make sure Isla was smiling! All this exercise is what it took! He literally ran her all around through the grass multiple times til I got the shot I wanted! Thanks, Brandon!
THIS ONE CRACKED ME UP SOO HARD! Honestly, because I relate the most to it! Like, Jen, I feel ya at that last picture. That. is. me.
Can you spot the droopy eyes in these bloopers?!
