I remember when I first met Taylor like 3 or 4 years ago. She was just hired on as a teacher at the elementary school I work at. At the time she had just moved to the area with her boyfriend and beloved dog, had just graduated, and was excited to start a career teaching. Today? I’m taking Cain’s in home lifestyle newborn portraits with her TWO beloved dogs and HUSBAND. So much can change in a few short years.
Cain is so precious! He has the perfect skin tone, little rolls on his arms and legs, and was just the sweetest little guy. Initially he was having a hard time falling asleep, but as soon as they fed him a quick bottle, he conked out and we got right to work. While they were doing that, I was being a nosey nelly and poking my head all over their place looking for where I thought we should take pictures. Shout out to Taylor for letting me roam your apartment to search for the best lighting. Also, for letting me move stuff all over the room to ensure clean images. 😉
I loved the way Taylor decorated a shared space for Cain. they are currently saving for a house, so they’re in a 2 bedroom apartment. Cain’s room is also their office. They did a great job of separating the space so that it still feels like Cain’s room. The nursery made it evident that Taylor is going to be spending many hours on the baseball field watching this little guy grow up. Something that I loved seeing was how they decorated his room with baseball stuff. Gloves, balls, even a bat, was all on display. Following right in his dad’s footsteps no doubt.
I just loved hearing about how Cole has been taking such good care of Taylor AND Cain since coming home. Dads, let me tell you, nothing tells your wife you love her like waking up to change the diaper in the middle of the night. Good job, Cole. Keep up the great support!
One last brag on Taylor, and then I’ll share photos of her adorable newborn. 2020 has thrown so many curveballs at us as teachers. I really don’t know how Taylor went through pregnancy with all that stress and is now going through motherhood for the first time with all the stress. She is a testament to how strong and determined mothers are! You’re doing a great job, Taylor! I can’t wait until things are normal again and you can see what being a mom without a pandemic is all about! Until then, enjoy the excuse to stay home and cuddle your baby! It’s the one good thing about a Covid world-an excuse to hunker down! 😉
Okay, okay, I lied. One more thing. You know what I have always loved about Taylor? She has adorable cheek dimples. Ya’ll! Cain has them too! I was so excited! I think dimples are the cutest!

OUR TIME TOGETHER: CAIN’S LIFESTYLE NEWBORN PORTRAITS
This is it. I’m done.
Haha, just kidding. But really, this is my favorite pictures from the shoot. I just love this angle and how peaceful he looks!
Okay, I lied. THIS is my favorite picture. It’s at the very least my new favorite baby foot picture! His toes are looking at the camera perfectly! You’d be surprised how squirmy newborns are when their feet touch the cold air-it’s hard work to get a shot like this! 😉
I caught a little smirk!! I love when this happens!
I just always have to put baby feet and baby hands together.
Hello, bright eyes!
BLOOPERS
Taylor and Cole love their dogs so I had all these visions in my head for photos to incorporate the dogs. Suffice it to say, that did not work out, as you can see, they only made the blooper reel. One of the dogs were always moving making them blurry. But we tried! Anyone with tips on how to make dogs stay still for photos and how to lay where I need them to, let me know! I’m all ears!
These are absolutely beautiful!! We love the photos and how patient and focused you were during the shoot! Thank you so much for the kind words, too!
Yay!! 🙂 So glad you love them!! <3 You guys are rocking new parenthood!
