Sloane’s Lifestyle Newborn Portraits – McKinney, Texas

Newborns

I just LOVE being able to be a newborn photographer in McKinney, Texas to families right in my backyard! I love preserving this time in their lives to create something they can look back on to remember this slow time at home right after the baby gets there. It literally lights my fire! This family was no different! Sloane is such a joy who I believe already is paving the way to be her own person!

Don’t you love babies who show their personality early on? For example, I think Sloane is going to be one of those punctual people.

She may even be obnoxious about it, like my husband. Where you’re not on time unless you’re 15 minutes early for everything. (Which I find annoying with children, that’s 15 extra minutes of time I have to try to keep my 2 year old behaving during church. If we would have just gotten there on time, she would have been behaving the WHOLE time instead of going crazy the last 15 minutes of the service, but whatever.)

Anyways, she came around a week early and I know her parents weren’t complaining about that! Maybe she’ll always be early for school too and Hana will never have to know the pain of forcing her kid out of bed a million times in the morning.

I love getting to know families as I serve them. I love that every family is different, just as people are all different in their own ways, but they ALL have one thing in common; their deep and obvious love for their newborn! It’s always especially special for first time parents! Sometimes, new parents are nervous to hold their baby, especially dads, but Hana and Tyler were naturals! I was SUPER impressed with Tyler’s abilities to wrap Sloane up like a burrito! Swaddling a baby is like, the most difficult thing to do, which is why I always used a sleep sack, but he did the best job of all of us!

I also loved seeing the support that Hana and Tyler have! Her sweet mom was over there during the pictures and helped keep me clear clutter out of the way, tie up curtains, and hold carry stuff all over the house as I moved from room to room.

Speaking of room to room, her nursery was so adorable, I decided to make it a separate blog post, that you can see here!

Hana, I’m so happy for you and Tyler! Your new family is so adorable! You look so beautiful so quickly after birth. I am so jealous that you are one of those people who just “bounce back”! I hope you enjoy the next 5 months! I’m so glad that the timing of everything worked out so that you can be on maternity leave and then have the summer off with her (benefits of being a teacher!) before you have to go back in August. Enjoy every single minute of it! She’s going to be such a different baby when that time comes!

So many bloopers from my favorite little “outfit” of hers!

I can already tell that she is going to be one of those people like me whose facial expressions give away their feelings all the time! haha

The reason my shutter count is so high, but deliverable photos is so much lower hahah

This was immediately following one of those newborn flinches. She just froze like this after flinching. It almost seemed like she was trying to scare me away! 😉
