I was so excited to hear from Courtney last month when she asked me to do their family photos!

I met Courtney several years ago at the same elementary school I teach at today! She taught 4th grade at my school. Later she left my school district to do some contract work, but is now an assistant principal in the same district as before!

It was fun catching up with her and talking “school”, but I had way more fun taking the Halpin family photos! I was especially proud of myself because I remembered her son and husband’s name WITHOUT facebook stalking her as a reminder! I remembered their names from all those years ago!

I used to pride myself on my memory and ability to focus, however, since having my daughter, my brain is mush. I can’t remember what I did two days ago (any other moms out there with me? Please…haha). My memories from BEFORE her though, still in tact, and it made me feel pretty great for a few seconds!

Another memory I have is when Courtney was still at Chandler. I drove my husband’s huge truck to work that day. After school, I got a call from a co-worker saying that my truck had a flat, and Courtney’s husband was there offering to help me change it to a spare! That’s just the kind of family that they are! They both stayed late to help me so that I wouldn’t be stranded or having to wait around for my husband to get off work to come help me!

Their kids are just as great! They were so well behaved and sweet! Thanks so much for choosing me to take your family photos! You guys were a joy and make this side hustle worth it to be away from my own family! 🙂
