River Ryan-A Quarter of a Year!

Baby Portraits

If you haven’t checked our River’s birth blog post, you can check it out here, or her lifestyle newborn post, here. I can’t believe a quarter of a year has passed already! Once you get to the bottom, go check out her cousin’s 3 month portraits here! It is so fun to see how they are different, but look so similar in some of their photos from their 3 month portrait sessions!

River has had quite an eventful life already! She’s already made everyone who loves her crazy sick with worry. Shortly after her birth, her parents found out she has SVT, a rare heart condition which makes her have episodes where her heart beats super fast, like nearly 300 beats a minute fast. This diagnosis makes that sweet pic of River holding her daddy’s hand to her heart in her newborn blog post even more special.

Before they could even adjust to life with a newborn, Kelsey and Ryan had to adjust to life with a baby with medical needs. They have made a few trips to the hospital now to get things under control, including an ambulance ride. Now they have to give medicine multiple times a day, which I don’t know if you’ve ever done this in your life, but it’s one of the most difficult things to do in the world if they don’t want to take it! So annoying-especially if they’re sick and need it to get better! They also have to monitor her heart rate constantly, they are always having to check her heart rate. This difficult time has really shown me what awesome people they are! They have just taken this all the best that anyone could and have really grown from the experience. I seriously admire their bravery and strength!

This hasn’t slowed River down at all though, she’s still just as cute as ever! Each time I photograph her, it gets harder and harder for me to narrow down my favorites! Just look below, you’ll see what I am talking about!

I love how they play with their feet and think their hands taste great at this age.

Those sweet details. I can’t believe how fast they grow!

The many faces of River.

That sweet face <3

I just literally can’t get enough of these faces! Her expressions say so much and I love it! I can’t wait to see how expressive she is with her words one day!

I can see so much of her Mama’s facial expressions in all three of these photos! I love it!

I’ll never be able to look at a photo of a parent with their hand on their kids heart the same again! River is lucky to have such awesome parents!

Also, if you’re interested to see what was happening behind the scenes at this shoot, hop on over here. I’ll give you a hint, baby portraits don’t go as well when there is a toddler runner around in the background, but that didn’t stop us from getting some awesome shots!
